Activities to Work on at Home
Kindergarten & FirstGrade
Third & Fourth Grade
Your overall assignment from me is to find ways to be CREATIVE! Keep your imaginations working and growing. Here are some examples of creative activities that you can do at home (but I'm sure you can come up with so many more on your own!)
* Build - blocks, tiles, boxes, playing cards, etc. whatever you can find to make an interesting structure
* Mold/Form - modeling clay, kinetic sand, play-doh, etc. see what you can create
*Collage - cut and glue any types of papers and objects, ex. construction paper, newspaper, fabric, yarn, etc.
*Create a sketch book - if you have a blank book great, if not staple some paper together or grab a folder and draw whenever you can!
* Doodle - some of the best drawings are made when you let your mind wander!
*Of course paint, color and draw whenever you can!
Great opportunity for all ages. Pop in and doodle alongside well known author/illustrator Mo Willems! Have fun!
Cassie Stephens is a larger than life, very COLORFUL art teacher who inspires me! This week she will be posting a different lesson each day on her youtube channel. Take a look at what she does and remember - I would love to see what you create - so send me a pic!
Another author/illustrator sharing his talents with us! Jarrett J. Krosoczka is posting a new video each day in which you can draw with him and learn some great drawing techniques. There is also an activity to do with other members of your family similar to the table drawings we sometimes do in class. Be creative!
I would love to hear about and see what you are creating at home. Feel free to have a parent email me with pictures or just a note if you want to share. You can also share any masterpieces when we return to school.
