  • Resources on the Internet

    • - All ESL students have a username and password to read and listen to books, record themselves reading aloud and take short quizzes to test their skills.

    • Storyline Online - A terrific site with stories read by actors from the ScreenActors' Guild. Grades K-4.

    • Children's Library - Books are available in English and and other languages that you can practice reading aloud.  Click on the red book circle in the middle of the page to choose books. You can than search for books by language from the drop down tab on the left hand side. 

    • Global Storybooks - This is a free multilingual literacy resource for children and youth worldwide. Read, download, toggle, and listen to a wide variety of illustrated stories from many countries. Development of this site continues at the University of British Columbia, Canada.

    • Google Translate - Besides translating a text, Google Translate's Snap feature instantly translates an image using a camera. The Talk feature enables users to have live bilingual conversations. The Google Translate Chrome extension translates an entire webpage.
