Wilson Reading System

  • Wilson Reading System is a structured literacy program founded upon phonological-coding research and Orton Gillingham principals. The Wilson Reading System systematically teaches the structure of the English language using multisensory strategies. Students learn fluent decoding and encoding skills to the level of mastery. Students will receive instruction in:

    • Phonemic awareness
    • Decoding and word study
    • Sight word recognition
    • Spelling
    • Fluency
    • Vocabulary
    • Oral expressive language development
    • Comprehension

    The Wilson Reading System is a Tier 3 intervention program for students in grades 2-12 and adults who are not responding to intervention and require more intensive literacy instruction.
