George White School Counselors’ Mission Statement
Our Counseling Program provides a comprehensive, proactive, developmental program designed to meet the unique needs of all students. Our Program also provides guidance services to parents/ guardians and school staff and coordinate with various community agencies in order to facilitate the development and implementation of strategies to meet student needs.
Our mission is to provide the students with comprehensive counseling and guidance services focused on academic, career, and social/emotional development (as determined by the American School Counseling Association as well as the New Jersey School Counseling Association). We are committed to offering a variety of programs to meet the needs of the many sectors of the community. We establish an atmosphere of positive reinforcement, respect, and understanding in order for students to achieve their optimum. We make every effort to help each adolescent cope with the varying emotional issues they may face during this transitional period of life. Additionally, we aim to effect a smooth transition for students from middle school to high school and on to future choices in either a career or a college experience. Our ultimate goal is to develop successful individuals and life-long learners who possess the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to become independent, self-fulfilled people in a complex global society.
