The State of New Jersey’s mandatory assessment, NJ ASK (The New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge) will be replaced by PARCC(Partnership for the Assessment of College and Career Readiness) for our 3rd and 4th grade students this school year.

The PARCC is a computer based test that will assess and measure our students on their understanding of the Common Core State Standards in the content areas of Mathematics and English Language Arts/Literacy.

In preparation for this assessment, Mrs. Barnhart and our 3rd and 4th grade teachers, have been working with the students on computer-based activities and assessments.

The PARCC Assessment will be administered in two parts.  There will be a problem based assessment with a window of accessibility from March 2—27th and an End of the Year Assessment from April 27th—May 22nd.  For more information on PARCC please visit the curriculum corner on our district website.

Check out these links for information and test samples for the upcoming PARCC test.

  • cookie Food Allergy Update

It has come to our attention that the Shop Rite bakeries are now notifying customers that their products are baked/prepared/packaged in facilities that use peanuts and tree nuts in some of their products.  This notification is posted in the stores and NOT included on their labels.  As a result of this new practice, Shop Rite baked products are no longer acceptable to be served as classroom treats.  Please note that this decision was made to ensure consistency with our district-approved Food Allergy Guidelines.  These guidelines can be reviewed on the Health Office websites for each of our schools.  In the coming weeks, we will provide further updates concerning this issue.  We appreciate all of your efforts as we do our best to keep our students with life-threatening food allergies safe during the school day.

  • “Kiss and Go” Reminder:reminder

Parents please be reminded of our “Kiss and Go Procedure” at arrival.  Teachers are stationed at our entrance to meet and greet your children and help them get to their destinations.  This procedure also applies during inclement weather days.  Parents are expected to say their goodbyes at the door and allow the faculty/staff present to supervise their children in the All Purpose Room and in the 4th grade hallway.

*Students who are enrolled in the ACES Before School Program will need their parents to escort them to the outside door of Room 101, where they are expected to sign in.
For more information about ACES Before/After School Program,  please call Alyssa Pulver 862-345-0477.
